Sonya Skin Care

Begin each morning and evening with the Aloe Purifying Cleanser. This remarkable cleanser with aloe and fruit extracts gently removes makeup and impurities. It leaves your skin feeling wonderfully soft, fresh and clean. Apply the cleanser to the fingertips of both hands and rub together. Massage over the face and throat area, and then remove with a cotton pad and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Keep in mind that your eye makeup should be removed with the Sonya Eye Makeup Remover

Follow the cleanser with Aloe Refreshing Toner. This alcohol-free skin refreshing toner with aloe and white tea provides vital moisture and prepares the skin for the Serum. Simply apply to the face and throat area with a cotton pad. Allow the toner to be absorbed before proceeding to the next step.

If you use Forever Epiblanc, be sure to apply it twice a day every day after the Toner is fully absorbed. It is important to remember that Epiblanc must be used 2 times a day every single day for best results.

If you use Alpha-E Factor, now is the time to apply this rich restorative oil.

If you use Alluring Eyes, apply after the Toner (and after Epiblanc if using both Alluring Eyes and Epiblanc).

Now it’s time to treat your skin to the Aloe Nourishing Serum. This wonderful serum with aloe, white tea and mimosa extract provides a concentrated boost of antioxidants that form a protective, nourishing barrier to help prevent the negative effects of the environment. Apply 2 to 3 “pumps” of serum to the fingertips. Rub the fingertips of both hands together; and apply to the face and throat area. Allow to absorb before proceeding to the next step.

Follow the Serum application with the Aloe Balancing Cream. This luxurious cream contains aloe plus revitalizing extracts and advanced moisturizers. It is perfect for use both day and night, and is excellent for use prior to the application of the Sonya Color Collection. Remove the spatula and disc underneath the lid. Place a small amount of cream on the jar disc. Using fingertips, apply the cream from the jar disc to the face and throat area, and massage into the skin. You have now completed your daily regimen.

If you use R3 Factor, it should be applied along with the Sonya Aloe Balancing Cream (in no particular order). You may mix the two products together if you prefer.

If you use Aloe Sunscreen, it should be applied after the Aloe Balancing Cream. You may then apply your Sonya Crème to Powder Foundation and The Sonya Colour Collection items of your choice.

The Aloe Deep-Cleansing Exfoliator is not part of the daily regime, but rather is designed to be used approximately two times a week. It contains aloe vera, natural jojoba beads, and cucumber and lemon extracts. The Aloe Deep-Cleansing Exfoliator increases circulation, refreshes the surface of the skin, and brightens its appearance. After cleansing with the Aloe Purifying Cleanser, dampen the face with water and apply the Exfoliator to the fingertips. Massage the face and throat area gently with fingertips for 2-3 minutes, carefully avoiding the eyes. Rinse with warm water, then pat dry with a clean towel, and follow with the Toner, Serum and Balancing Cream.

10 Top Skin Care Tips and Natural Skin Care Health

Healthy skin is really one of the most important ingredients for beauty-enhancement. This article on skin care tips is an effort to bring the 10 best skin care tips to you. The list of skin care tips has been restricted to 10 because anything more that that would not only be difficult to remember, but also shadow the more important skin care tips.

So let’s see what these top ten skin care tips are:

  • Knowing your skin type is one of the most important skin care tip. This is important because not every skin care product suits everyone. In fact, all the skin care products specify the type of skin they cater too.
  • ‘Drink a lot of water’. This will not keep your skin moist but will help in overall upkeep of your health (and in turn your skin). It might seem a bit awkward to some, however, this is an important skin care tip.• Cleanse your skin regularly (1-2 times everyday). A very effective skin care tip that helps in getting rid of the dirt and other harsh elements from your skin. Cleansing is especially important when you have been out of your house (and hence exposed to pollutants, dust etc). This skin care tip also advocates the use of Luke warm water for cleansing (hot and cold water, both, cause damage to your skin).
  • Be gentle, after all it’s your skin. Don’t scrub/exfoliate too hard or too often. Similarly, don’t apply too much or too many skin care products. A must-to-follow skin care tip.
  • Keep your skin moist at all times. This is one of the most important skin care tip. Don’t let your skin get dry. Dryness causes the outer layer of your skin to break, leading to a rough and unattractive appearance. Use moisturisers/ emollients. Moisturisers work best when applied while the skin is still damp.
  • Avoid the use of soap on your face. Soap should only be used from below the neck. A small but important skin care tip.
  • Use sunscreen to protect yourself from sun’s harmful UV radiations. You can use day-time moisturisers that have sunscreen built into them. Use them even when it’s cloudy. UV radiations are known to cause skin cancer, so follow this skin care tip without fail.
  • A bit of exercise and good sleep are essential too, not just for skin care but for your health as a whole. Lack of sleep can lead to formation of wrinkles below your eyes and lack of exercise can cause your skin to slack. Moreover, exercise and sleep also help in beating stress. So besides being a skin care tip, this is also a health care tip.
  • Treat skin dilemmas with care. This skin care tip is about not ignoring any skin dilemmas. Consult your dermatologist before you go on to use a skin care product (lest you do end up harming your skin even more).
  • Beat the stress. The harmful effects of stress are known to everyone, however, sometimes stating the obvious is essential too (and hence this skin care tip found its place here). Yes, stress harms skin too. So, take a break or indulge in a warm bubble bath or just get good sleep.

Stretch Marks

How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks on Your Skin Naturally

No matter how hard some people try, prevention of stretch marks is often impossible. Stretch marks themselves do not cause harm to health or the body’s function but may affect your self-esteem or confidence. Stretch marks are generally associated with pregnancy or obesity, and can develop during rapid muscle growth from body building. Other common causes are through fast weight gain and growth spurts that are often associated with adolescents.

Can Stretch Marks Go Away?

Some people think there’s nothing that can be done about stretch marks. ‘Once you’ve got them, there here to stay’ but that turns out not to be true.

Stretch marks can appear all over the body - on arms, legs, thighs, hips, chests, breasts, tummys, etc. - and can be a problem to men, women or children. While you can consider removing stretch marks by cosmetic surgery, plastic surgery for stretch marks and laser surgery for stretch marks can be both an uncomfortable and expensive treatment. Most people would like a proven home remedy to remove stretch marks and a natural solution or cure.

Many people seek a remedy for stretch marks, stretch marks after pregnancy, or on adolescents or kids can unnecessarily undermine confidence. Finding out how to remove stretch marks can be a new release of life for many people with no more embarassment or being self-conscious about unsightly stretch marks.

Simple Stretch Mark Treatments?

To get rid of stretch marks quickly and permanently may not always be an easy process but perseverence and patience could well be successful with natural treatments.

As stretch marks start out as microscopic tears in skin layers due to overstretching of the dermis, aloe vera helps heal these small wounds without causing scar tissue to form, effectively preventing the appearance of stretch marks.

Home Remedy Proven to Remove Stretch Marks and Acne Scars Naturally?

Aloe vera has been shown in clinical studies to have a positive effect on wound healing and holds anti-inflammatory properties. Topical aloe vera treatments have been shown to effectively moisturise the outer skin layer (epidermis) while also being absorbed into the middle layer of skin (dermis) where it can work to heal and repair damaged skin cells thus effectively eliminating stretch mark evidence.

Rubbing Aloe Vera gel onto the skin once or twice a day can benefit the healing of stretch marks. As with scarring, persevere for up to six months.

Can I Apply Aloe Vera Gel on Stretch Marks?

Applied twice daily over a number of months, Aloe Vera can reduce or completely remove minor scars. The older the scar, the more perseverance is needed. Combine with Vitamin E for maximum effectiveness.

Aloe Vera can be applied in the liquid gel form or through a topical application such as Aloe Vera Gelly, Aloe Propolis Creme or Alpha-E Factor

Drinking Aloe Vera Gel can also contribute towards healthier skin as the benefits of aloe vera are absorbed internally.

If you know that your skin is likely to experience stretch marks through something such as bodybuilding or pregnancy, then it pays to take a pro-active approach to attempt to prevent stretch marks. While this may not actually avoid the problem, any effort in preventing stretch marks may make it easier in making stretch marks vanish in the future or reducing visibility of stretch marks.

Why we should condition our hair?

Conditioning is a very important aspect of the hair-care routine, almost all kinds of hair need conditioning to some extent or the other. It is carried out to rejuvenate our hair which is usually robbed of its vitality by the abuse it is exposed to. Conditioning is in fact a restorative routine, and falls in the category of preventive hair-care as explained.

Conditioning Restores Body and Bounce to limp Hair - There are two kinds of body-building conditioners--the ones you rinse out and the ones you leave in. Both work at adding bulk to the hair by leaving some material on the hair shaft. These materials include polymer fibers and protein.

Conditioning Restores the Acid Mantle and Removes Snarls from the Hair - The special cream rinse conditioners are designed to untangle the frizz in the hair. Many also add the welcome beauty benefit of high gloss to the locks. The cream rinse coats the hair to help minimize the stress on the hair from brushing, combing, setting and keeps breakage and spilt ends under control. Cream rinses do not add body but only soften the hair.

Conditioning Restores the Damaged Hair into Full-bodied Hair - We use deep conditioners to help restore the dry, damaged hair, plus hair that is brittle excessively and broken in anyway. The deep conditioners contain large amounts of protein. In order that these proteins are absorbed, the deep conditioner should be applied for a longer time. The protein works by repairing hair damage at the area that is badly in need of help. Damaged Hair care with conditioners may prove to be very useful if applied properly.

Conditioning Helps Restore the Loss of Moisture in Hair - Conditioners also help in reducing friction and adding compatibility to hair. In addition, they help in removing dryness and moisturizing it.

Hair Loss

Hair Loss

What is the normal cycle of hair growth and loss?

The normal cycle of hair growth lasts for 2 to 6 years. Each hair grows approximately 1 centimeter (less than half an inch) per month during this phase. About 90 percent of the hair on your scalp is growing at any one time. About 10 percent of the hair on your scalp, at any one time, is in a resting phase. After 2 to 3 months, the resting hair falls out and new hair starts to grow in its place.

It is normal to shed about 50 hair each day as part of this cycle. However, some people may experience excessive (more than normal) hair loss. Hair loss of this type can affect men, women and children.

If hair drop is more than 100, hair density decreases and scalp appear in sight.

Causes

A number of things can cause excessive hair loss. For example, about 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you may suddenly lose a large amount of hair. This hair loss is related to the stress of the illness and is temporary.

Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they've had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones. During pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out. When the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts again.

Some medicines can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, medicines used in chemotherapy to treat cancer, vitamin A (if too much is taken), birth control pills and antidepressants.

Certain infections can cause hair loss. Fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss in children. The infection is easily treated with antifungal medicines.

Finally, hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. Since hair loss may be an early sign of a disease, it is important to find the cause so that it can be treated.

Aloe Vera - An Effective Treatment for Acne?

Aloe Vera - An Effective Treatment for Acne?

Aloe vera is an active ingredient in a number of different products and helps to treat a wide variety of different problems and conditions. It is used primarily to improve the appearance of the skin and treat a variety of digestive problems, but can Aloe vera effectively treat acne?

Acne is quite an unsightly skin disorder which can affect various parts of the body but is generally most prevalent on the face and neck. It is a condition mostly found in people aged between 12 and 24 years old and can be highly embarrassing for the sufferer, of which there are millions all over the world. However there are ways in which you can reduce the visible scarring and redness associated with acne. You can start by improving your diet so that you're eating plenty of fruit and vegetables. You also want to eat foods containing anti-oxidants and omega 3, as well as foods high in vitamin E because this vitamin is considered to be excellent for removing acne scars and scratches from the skin and improving the skin's overall appearance.

In addition, you should also drink lots of water and make sure you get plenty of exercise because all of these things will help your body to remove toxins which can build up in the skin and cause acne.

Another way to effectively treat acne is by using the powerful healing quality of Aloe vera. The extract from the Aloe vera plant has long been used to treat cuts, wounds and burns and is considered to be equally as effective at treating acne. It works by moisturizing the skin, but unlike most of the basic moisturizing creams out there, it also heals the skin and will often heal the scars and redness associated with acne. So in effect it acts as both a moisturizer and an anti-inflammatory agent.

You can apply Aloe vera directly to your skin through gels, creams and lotions, or you can ingest Aloe vera through juices or pills which is where the Aloe vera ingredient is said to be most effective. Whichever product you use, it has been shown that Aloe vera can be a highly effective ingredient in the fight to reduce the appearance of acne, particularly if used on a daily basis, so it can help you to lead a happier and more confident life.

About Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a remarkable plant…one of a handful of traditional folk remedies renowned since ancient times as a ‘cure all’. It has been called by such evocative names as ‘Wand of Heaven’, ‘Miracle Worker’ and ‘Silent Healer’, while the ancient Egyptians referred to it as ‘The Plant of Immortality’. Indeed, one of the most outstanding qualities of Aloe Vera is the versatile nature of its healing properties. Although it is best known today as a cosmetic ingredient, modern research is confirming the value of Aloe Vera in the treatment of numerous disorders. These range from common complaints such as acne, eczema, indigestion and psoriasis to more serious medical conditions such as arthritis, ulcers, radiation burns, irritable bowel syndrome and even AIDS and cancer.

Mahatma Gandhi drank Aloe Vera juice every day. In a letter to his biographer, Romain Rolland, Gandhi wrote:

You ask me what were the secret forces that sustained me during my long fasts. Well, it was my unshakeable faith in God, my simple frugal lifestyle, and the Aloe whose benefits I discovered upon my arrival in South Africa at the end of the 19th century.

Aloe Vera contains over seventy-five nutrients and twenty minerals, nineteen amino acids including all eight essential amino acids, eleven secondary amino acids and twelve vitamins. These vitamins include: A, B1, B6, B12, C and E. It has even been referred to as “a pharmacy in a plant”.
